Abstract

Possessing unique advantages, Xinjiang should receive support to employ resources from different fields to become explorer, promoter and practitioner of the Silk Road Economic Belt. Xinjiang should be a major driving force of the belt initiative, a window of China open to the West and a cooperative center as well as development platform for regions along the belt. Therefore, Xinjiang should communicate more with surrounding countries to promote interaction and integration of the market. Xinjiang should advocate mutual benefits and make full use of existing platforms such as Shanghai Cooperation Organization, China-Eurasian Expo, Kashgar Special Economic Zone and Horgos International Border Cooperation Center. Xinjiang should actively carry out cooperation in fields of agriculture, tourism, manufacturing and services with surrounding countries and Xinjiang should ensure the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt in five aspects including mechanics, human resources, policy, social environment and security.
