Roche Demonstration Center, a laboratory of the company's Asia-Pacific international regional test center, was founded in the medical laboratory center of the Luohu Hospital Group in Shenzhen on Nov. 14.  

This is regarded as highly conducive to responding to the possible resurgence of the COVID-19 outbreak, and providing better medical care services to residents of Shenzhen and beyond.

As one of the first such laboratories to conduct tests for COVID-19, the medical laboratory center of the Luohu Hospital Group has so far tested 1.38 million nucleic acid samples for the virus, the largest number in the city. 

The Luohu Hospital Group vowed to further increase its capacity.

Sun Xizhuo, president of the group, said that, in the post-pandemic era, the group would accelerate its construction of first-class smart medical care service so as to serve more people. 

Sun said the founding of the Roche Demonstration Center was an exploration in this direction. 

The Luohu Hospital Group imported the Roche lab automation solutions last year, to better handle management of sample tests. 

Zhang Xiuming, vice-president of the group and director of the medical laboratory center, pointed out the founding of the demonstration center had been able to integrate all procedures of the sample tests, and improved quality and efficiency of the nucleic acid test for the virus. 

Chen Jintian, vice-president of Roche Diagnostics China, said the company looks forward to cooperating with more Chinese medical care agencies, and construct new medical care test ecology.
