Chinese embassies to three Asian countries launched memorial activities on Friday to commemorate China's 1945 victory against Japanese aggression.

In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the Chinese diplomatic mission held a special reception in Pyongyang that was attended by senior officials and Anti-Japanese War veterans from the host country.

Chinese Ambassador Liu Hongcai said China's great victory against Japanese aggressors resulted from the united struggle by the whole Chinese nation, and was inseparable from the support of all the nations across the world that love peace and justice.

China established a deep friendship with the DPRK during their common resistance against Japanese invaders, and it would make constant efforts together with the DPRK and other members of the international community to promote peace and development for the entire human race, he said.

In Singapore, a symposium at the Chinese embassy was hosted by Ambassador Wei Wei, who spoke highly of the contribution of the Singaporean people and the overseas Chinese across southeastern Asia to China's historic victory.

In the Philippines, nearly 100 photographs from the bloody war went on display in Manila on Friday. The event, cosponsored by the Chinese embassy and two local institutions, was dedicated to the memory of those who sacrificed themselves for peace and to urge the living to continue the unfinished efforts for world peace and common development, Chinese counselor Bai Tian said.

These activities came on the heels of a reception held on Wednesday by the Chinese embassy to Thailand. Around 600 people took part in the event, where Chinese Ambassador Guan Mu said China would proceed unswervingly along the path of peaceful development and continue working with other countries for the common good of the mankind.

Japan signed the official capitulation on Sept. 2, 1945, which also marked the end of the worldwide Anti-Fascism War. China commemorates its victory on Sept. 3 every year.
