Suffering from bone cancer for eight years, Feng Juan was in bad need of a wheelchair. Her information was put on Internet and in less than 10 minutes, a disabled man in Beijing fulfilled her wish.

Feng Juan, a 20-year-old girl from east China's Anhui Province, was diagnosed with bone cancer when she was 13. During eight years of treatment, she has endured four major surgeries and over 30 chemotherapy treatments. However, her condition got worse and her right leg was amputated on January 5 this year.

"I need a wheelchair to reduce my father’s burden. But we cannot afford the price," she said.

Her father Feng Kecheng then decided to seek help from Beijing Enable Disability Studies Institute, an NGO focusing on social work and legal support for people with disabilities.

Li Wei, a female staff from this institute got his phone call on May 30. She put Feng's information on their QQ groups (a popular online chatting software in China) immediately and got response in less than 10 minutes.

Jin Zhaopeng donated his spare wheelchair with no hesitation. This 35-year-old Beijinger once worked as a shop manager of Starbucks but unfortunately he was crippled in a traffic accident.

He told China Development Gateway that this wheelchair was a gift from Chaoyang Disabled People's Federation in 2009. Last year he got another one because he was thinner than before and the former one didn't fit his body.

Asked about why he decided to donate, he said he has got a lot of love and care from the society and he wanted to pass them on. He was happy to help others in need.

"Thanks for the caring from warm-hearted people, I will try my best to fight with cancer and live optimistically," Feng Juan vowed.
