This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, so the CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission have decided to hold a military parade at the Tian'anmen Square. In essence, a parade is a military ceremony to inspect a country's armed forces, as well as an important part of the country's major celebrations. This year's parade, the first National Day parade in the new era, will fully display the achievements of national defense and the building of the army in the past seven decades, highlight the PLA's great endeavor in reform, and showcase its vitality and strength to contribute to our national prosperity and rejuvenation. We will manage the scale of the parade properly and debut some of our advanced weapons and equipment. Generally speaking, this year's parade will be bigger than the previous ones held to mark the 50th and 60th anniversaries of the founding of the People's Republic of China and to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The parade is expected to showcase the new look of the people's army at this new historic starting point as well as its open and self-confident image as a world-class military force.
