Waldersee, commander-in-chief
of the allied Forces, wrote in his memoirs, "After the allied
Forces captured Beijing, they were given special permission
for open plunder." The Allied forces went all lengths in their
pillage. Pictured here is the seat of the Qing Government's
Ministry of revenue before it was burnt down by Japanese troops.
The Japanese took 3 million taels of silver from here setting
it on fire.
