Harmony Between Humanity and Nature
Harmonious coexistence means a sound relationship between humanity and nature, and it also epitomizes the CPC's concept of eco-civilization in the new era. In terms of development experience of different countries around the world, there has always seemed to be a conflict between economic and social development and environmental protection, that is, economic and social development has in general been attained at the expense of the ecological environment. However, such a development path is unsustainable.
China has been assiduously exploring ways to maintain rapid economic development that does not come at too great a cost of the environment, in a bid to achieve coordinated development between the economy, society and the environment. Thanks to the Party's unremitting efforts since the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC), the country has made great achievements in environmental protection. In particular, since the Party's 18th National Congress in 2012, the CPC Central Committee has promoted ecological progress with unprecedented intensity. As a result, the consciousness and initiative to promote green development have been significantly enhanced throughout the Party and the country, the effort to build a beautiful China has taken a major step forward, and China's environmental protection has witnessed historic, all-round progress. While having achieved long-term social stability and rapid economic development, China has also made significant progress regarding green development, which has attracted worldwide attention and contributed to the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects and the new journey toward the second Centenary Goal of building a modern socialist country in all respects.
China's development cannot be attained without a good ecological environment. The earth is humanity's only home, humanity and nature make up a community with a shared future, and the dream of building a beautiful home is shared by all humanity. Therefore, with deep reverence for nature and an attitude of respecting, accommodating and protecting nature, the Chinese people are committed to building a home planet where humanity and nature coexist in harmony.
The vision featuring harmonious coexistence of humanity with nature is the basic position of the CPC on economic and social development in the new era. The idea that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets and the goal of building a beautiful China are typical expressions of this vision.
和諧共生
和諧共生，強調的是人與自然之間的一種良性關系，集中體現中國共產黨生態文明理念。從世界各國的發展經驗來說，經濟社會的發展與自然環境之間似乎總是存在著矛盾，即經濟社會發展總體上是以犧牲生態環境為代價的。但是，這樣的發展路徑是不可持續的。如何既贏得經濟的迅速發展，又切實保護好環境，促進經濟社會與自然生態之間的協同發展，這是中國一直在探索的一條發展道路。中華人民共和國成立以來，中國共產黨推動生態環境保護事業從無到有、不斷壯大，取得了輝煌成就。特別是中共十八大以來，中共中央以前所未有的力度抓生態文明建設，全黨全國推動綠色發展的自覺性和主動性顯著增強，美麗中國建設邁出重大步伐，中國生態環境保護發生歷史性、轉折性、全局性變化，在實現經濟快速發展奇跡和社會長期穩定奇跡的同時，取得了舉世矚目的綠色發展奇跡，為全面建成小康社會、邁入實現第二個百年奮斗目標新征程增添綠色底色和質量成色。中國的發展離不開整個自然生態環境，地球是全人類賴以生存的唯一家園，人與自然是命運共同體，建設美麗家園是人類的共同夢想。因此，中國人民深懷對自然的敬畏之心，尊重自然、順應自然、保護自然，致力于構建人與自然和諧共生的地球家園。
人與自然和諧共生的生態觀、發展觀，是新時代中國共產黨對于經濟社會發展的基本立場，而“綠水青山就是金山銀山”理念和“美麗中國”目標，就是這種生態觀、發展觀的典型表達。
