Promote the Common Values of Mankind
President Xi Jinping addressed the high-level general debate of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 28, 2015. "As an ancient Chinese adage goes, 'The greatest ideal is to create a world truly shared by all,'" he said there. "Peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom are common values of all mankind and the lofty goals of the United Nations."
Peace and development are the common aspirations of mankind and the theme of the current era. Global consensus supports the rights to subsistence and development of all people. Fairness and justice are common ideals of mankind and the cornerstone of the international order. Democracy and freedom are the common goals of mankind and the common rights of all peoples. The common values of mankind are the core values and guiding principles for building a global community of shared future, which represent China's solutions to tackling the pressing problems facing today's world. Although these values were first proposed by China, they are not an invention of China, but rather objectives that conform to the development trends of the times and represent the aspirations of people from all countries. They drew upon Western values and have since transcended them by inheriting fine traditional Chinese culture and transforming them to suit new circumstances. They aim to center the shared interests of mankind as the common ground, build consensus among different civilizations, and promote exchange and mutual learning.
弘揚(yáng)全人類共同價(jià)值
2015年9月28日，習(xí)近平在第七十屆聯(lián)合國(guó)大會(huì)一般性辯論上指出：“‘大道之行也，天下為公。’和平、發(fā)展、公平、正義、民主、自由，是全人類的共同價(jià)值，也是聯(lián)合國(guó)的崇高目標(biāo)?！?/p>
和平與發(fā)展是人類的共同事業(yè)，也是當(dāng)今時(shí)代的主題，關(guān)乎所有人的生存權(quán)和發(fā)展權(quán)。公平與正義是人類的共同理想，也是國(guó)際秩序的基石。民主與自由是人類的共同追求， 是各國(guó)人民共同的權(quán)利。全人類共同價(jià)值是構(gòu)建人類命運(yùn)共同體的價(jià)值內(nèi)核和理念指引，是解答“世界之問(wèn)”的中國(guó)主張和中國(guó)智慧。它雖然是由中國(guó)率先提出，但并非僅是中國(guó)的發(fā)明創(chuàng)造，而是順應(yīng)時(shí)代發(fā)展潮流、契合各國(guó)人民期待的價(jià)值追求；它既是對(duì)西方價(jià)值觀的吸收、超越，也是對(duì)中華優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化的繼承、創(chuàng)新與弘揚(yáng)，旨在以人類共同利益為交匯點(diǎn)，凝聚不同文明的價(jià)值共識(shí)，增進(jìn)不同文明的交流互鑒。
