Shanghai Business School Ranks in World's Top 20

The Shanghai-based China-Europe International Business School (CEIBS) jumped to the 20th on the list of world's best Executive MBA programs, according to the latest ranking made by the Financial Times.

As one of the world's most authoritative sources of information on business and economics, the British newspaper issues an annual ranking of business schools in terms of their course quality, students' level, customer services, international experiences and another indices.

According to the Financial Times, CEIBS has overtaken many top business schools in the United States, including Georgetown University, the Orrin school of Washington University, and the Kallsen school of the University of Minnesota.

CEIBS, the first school to open special training courses targeting senior managers in China in 1994, has developed into the largest business school in China, training business people for transnational corporations, private companies and state-owned enterprises.

Since the Financial Times began issuing its rankings in 2001, CEIBS has ranked in the top 50 every year, the only Chinese school on the list.

Prof. Liu Ji, president of CEIBS, said the goal of the school in the next decade is to rank among the world's top ten.

CEIBS was founded in Shanghai jointly by the Shanghai municipal government and the European Union in 1994. Its goal was to address the need for high-level management education in China, as a way of supporting the country's economic, social and administrative reforms and further integration into the world economy.

More than 2,000 MBAs and EMBAs have graduated from the school.
