Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has sent a congratulatory message to Jiang Zemin, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on the occasion of the convening of the 16th National Congress of the CPC.
In his message, Musharraf said that, both on behalf of the Pakistani government and people, and personally, he extended warm and sincere congratulations to Jiang.
He expressed the belief that the CPC's 16th National Congress will be a great success and will accomplish all its targets.
Decisions to be made at the congress will undoubtedly further promote China's prosperity and economic construction, and make contributions to peace and progress in the region and in the whole world, he added.
Meanwhile, other friendly parties and their party leaders across the world have sent congratulatory messages to the CPC on the occasion of the convening of its 16th National Congress.
These parties include the African National Congress of South Africa, the South African Communist Party, the Mozambique Liberation Front Party, the Moldovan Party of Communists, the Democratic Left Alliance of Poland, the Communist Party of Armenia, the Socialist Party of France, the Communist Party of France, the All Indian National Congress (I), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Nepali Congress Party.
