Nobel Laureates to Discuss Energy Conservation in Beijing
Adjust font size:

Nine Nobel laureates and five world-renowned scientists will gather in Beijing next month to discuss energy conservation and emission reduction, according to a press briefing on Tuesday.

The laureates, including Robert Mundell, winner of the 1999 economics prize; Edmund Phelps, winner of the 2004 chemistry prize; Richard Schrock, winner of the 2005 chemistry prize; and Thomas Schelling, winner of the 2005 economics prize.

They will gather at an international forum on energy and environmental protection to be held from Sept. 11 to 14 in Beijing, and have discussions with Chinese scientists on energy saving, emission reduction and sustainable development.

Nobel laureates and world-renowned economists are expected to give more than 50 lectures on various topics such as solar energy and its market development, global warming and the reduction in greenhouse gases in Beijing.
