China, Ecuador pledge to further all-round cooperation
Adjust font size:

China and Ecuador agreed to enhance cooperation ranging from the political areas to economic and trade fields after Chinese President Hu Jintao held talks in Beijing Tuesday with visiting Ecuadorian President Fafael Correa.

During the talks, Hu told Correa that China would encourage the bilateral cooperation between the governments, parties and legislative organs and would encourage more Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Ecuador.

He also voiced the hope to enhance cooperation on agriculture, energy resources and finance, as well as the personnel exchanges.

Hu said China would like to maintain consultation with Ecuador in the multilateral arenas including the United Nations, the World Trade Organization and Andean Community to promote a just and reasonable international order.

Hu expressed gratitude for the adherence of Ecuador to one-China policy.

Correa said Ecuador had closely watched China's development, and handled the bilateral relations with the strategic perspective.

He noted Ecuador would like to promote reciprocal cooperation and maintain consultation with China in the international affairs to push forward Ecuador-China ties. He reaffirmed Ecuador would adhere to one-China policy.

Correa arrived in Beijing on Monday for a weeklong state visit to China. Besides Beijing, Correa will also visit Xi'an and Shanghai.
