4th China-Spain Forum ends
Adjust font size:

The Fourth China-Spain Forum ended Wednesday after two days of discussions on a wide range of topics including politics, economy, culture, sports and law.

Delegates from both sides expressed their willingness to promote bilateral cooperation to boost China-Spain relations, as part of broader China-European Union links.

Among the topics discussed were also financial system reform and business sponsorship for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Carmen Calvo, the deputy leader of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of Spain's legislature, said the two nations have an excellent relationship and she hoped this would be further deepened in the future.

He Luli, the Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, praised what Calvo described as the "exemplary close collaboration between nations with different histories, cultures and levels of development."

The Chinese official was confident that Spain's and China's friendly, peaceful collaboration had a brilliant future.

The China-Spain Forum, initiated by the two governments in 2003, aims to boost bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

The first forum was held in Beijing in 2003, the second in Barcelona in 2004 and the third in Shanghai in 2006.
