Weekly Weather Forecast (Jan. 17–23)

Northwest China: January 17–18, western Xinjiang and eastern sections of the northwest will be overcast with light snowfall with force 4 northerly winds. January 20–21, eastern sections of the region will continue to get light to moderate snowfall with force 4 – 5 northerly winds expected afterwards. Most of the region will see sunny to cloudy days during the rest of the week.

 

North China: January 17, northernmost and eastern parts of the region will be overcast with light snowfall. January 18–19, the same areas will see force 4–6 northerly winds. January 21–22, the northernmost segments will be under overcast to sunny skies with possible light snow in some areas accompanied by force 4–6 northerly winds; while the central and southern parts will see overcast days with light to moderate snowfall.

 

Northeast China: January 17–18, most of the region will experience light to moderate snowfall followed by force 4–6 northerly winds. January 20–21, the northernmost and easternmost portions will get light snow.

 

Central China: January 17–19, most of the region will have light to moderate rainfall or snow. January 20–22, another wave of precipitation will move through the region from north to south, mostly light to moderate rain or snow with heavy snowfall or snowstorms expected in some places.

 

East China: January 17–18, Shandong Peninsula will be overcast with light snowfall followed by force 4–5 northerly winds. January 18–19, areas south of the Yangtze River will have light to moderate rain or snow. January 20–22, most of the region will have light to moderate snow or rainfall with heavy snow or snowstorms possible in some areas. 

 

South China: January 18–19, western sections of the region will be overcast with light rainfall. January 21–23, most of the south will see light to moderate rainfall with heavy rain expected in some areas.

 

Southwest China: Most of the region will be dominated by overcast and rainy days throughout the week, mostly light to moderate rain or snowfall with heavy snow to snowstorms in some places.
