A museum exhibiting over 500 Olympic souvenirs was launched recently in Xiamen, southeastern China's Fujian province.

The 500 souvenirs include Olympic torches, mascots, memorial coins and badges, mostly donated by Wu Jiangguo, a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and chairman of the International Boxing Federation (IBF). He also invested to built the museum itself.

The museum has been authorized to become a member of the International Olympic Museum Union, a first for China.
