Exit polls show 62% of US voters regard economy as top issue
Adjust font size:

Preliminary exit polls taken by U.S. media during Tuesday's presidential election showed that 62 percent of the voters regarded economy as the top issue.

According to the polls, 57 percent of people polled after casting their vote across the United States favored Democratic presidential front-runner Barack Obama over his Republic rival John McCain.

Ten percent of those surveyed cited the war, 9 percent chose terrorism and 9 percent went with health care.

According to a MSNBC polling, 71 percent of voters were concerned about another terror attack against the United States.

CBS found that three out of four voters polled said that the United States was on the wrong track under Bush. They gave him a 71 percent disapproval rating.
