| Gru (Steve Carell) is an evil supervillain who has masterminded some of the most impressive crimes in humanity's history, including the theft of both the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower (well, the Las Vegas replicas). But when a brash new arrival (Jason Segel's Vector) arrives on the scene, Gru – along with his sidekick (Russell Brand's Dr. Nefario) and his army of minions – is forced to concoct a scheme that will effectively dwarf his previous accomplishments. As such, Gru eventually conspires to steal no less than the moon using a stolen device that's capable of shrinking objects to pocket size. |

| His seemingly perfect plan is inevitably foiled by Vector, however, as the tracksuit-wearing scoundrel steals the device for himself and transfers it to an impenetrable location deep within his fortified lair. All seems lost for Gru until he spots a trio of adorable orphans (Miranda Cosgrove's Margo, Dana Gaier's Edith, and Elsie Fisher's Agnes) selling cookies door to door, with their immediate access into Vector's home setting into motion a plot that forces Gru to adopt the three little kids. |

| As expected, Gru immediately discovers that caring for small children is far more difficult than he might have anticipated, yet this doesn't stop him from using the girls to sneak tiny robots disguised as cookies into Vector's house. The rest of the movie follows Gru as he attempts to balance his nefarious deeds with his newfound role as a caregiver, while Vector goes to increasingly incredible lengths to prevent Gru from executing his evil plan. |
