15-year-old Chinese Shao Yiwen claimed a gold in the women's 400-meter freestyle at the Guangzhou Asian Games?in Guangzhou?on Monday.

Shao, runner-up of the national championships in 2010, trailed her teammate Liu Jing in the first 300m, but made a powerful dash in the 330m mark to outplace Liu and lift the title in four minutes and 5.58 seconds.

Liu, 20, 4x200m freestyle relay winner at 2009 Rome Worlds, took the silver in 4:08.89, while South Korean Seo Youn Jeong finished third in 4:14.50.
