Meili Snow Mountain in Yunnan

Lying close to Yunnan Province's northwestern border, Meili Snow Mountain is bordered by Nujiang River on the west and the Mekong on the east. The mountain has 13 peaks boasting an average height of 6,000 meters above sea level. The highest peak is Kawagebo, at 6,740 meters. The scenery at snow-capped Meili Mountain changes with each season, and the mountain is widely regarded as one of the most spectacular in the world. In late autumn and early winter, the weather around Meili becomes cool and sunny, making this the best time to visit magical Meili Mountain and take in the spectacular scenery.

Admission: 308 yuan (including five scenic spots: Jinsha River Bay, Wunongding, Feilai Temple, Mingyong Glacier and Yu Beng)

Opening hours: 7:00 --17:00

Best time to visit: late October to early November

Getting there: Take a tour bus from Shangri-la to Deqin, and then take a taxi to Meili.
