The Turkish Edition of Chinese magazine "China Today" was launched on Sept. 23 in Ankara, capital of Turkey, to provide first-hand information for Turkish business circles.

China Today's Turkish Edition focuses on economic reportage, providing useful information for Turkish readers. It also reports on Chinese culture, philosophy and geography as well as teaching the Chinese language.

"I believe (the Turkish edition of 'China Today') is not only a magazine but will also play the role of a bridge, a stage and a school in the exchange between China and Turkey. We hope the magazine make a bigger difference in the two countries' communication," said Zhou Mingwei, president of China International Publishing Group (CIPG), who attended the ceremony for the Turkish edition.

"Because of the language barrier, few Chinese understand Turkish and we have to rely on the third party to get information about each other. As a result of using indirect information sources, especially English media, the way we see each other has been influenced by the Western point of view," Zhou said.

China Today's Turkish Edition is co-published by CIPG and the Turkey-based Dijitek Group. CIPG grants the title of the magazine and the copyrights of articles and photographs published in China Today. The Dijitek International Business Matching Center is in charge of translating and editing the selected articles, and publishing and distributing the magazine.

Dijitek will publish 10,000 copies per issue and distribute them in major bookstores and shopping malls in Turkey's main cities. Subscribers are expected to reach 2,000 within the first three months.

The first issue of the Turkish Edition, published on Sept. 1, 2010, is available in Turkey's major cities.
