Ningxia has exported over 1 million cashmere sweaters to developed countries such as America, Europe and Japan in the last 8 months. The total cost of the sweaters comes to $35,030 million USD (223,842 million yuan), representing respective increases of 14.8 percent and 54.4 percent compared with the same period last year.

However, exports of cashmere have seen a sharp drop in comparison to cashmere sweaters. Ningxia exported 354.6 tons of cashmere, costing $39,920 million USD (255,308 million yuan) in the last 8 months, representing a respective drop of 26.2 percent and 25.3 percent compared with the same period last year. The ratio of finished products to raw material is close to 1:1.14. But, in 2010, the ratio was 1:2.6, showing the strong international competitive power.
