Dawukou District in Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, has built a great deal of ecological?construction projects over the past two years.

Dawukou District is a state-level ecological civilization demonstration pilot area, and recently launched the Eastern Foot of Mount Helan ecological project to develop nearby wetland areas.

The district plans to invest 2 billion yuan on ecological demonstration projects this year to realize sustainable development.

The district’s coal consumption per unit of GDP dropped to 2.06 tons, and forest coverage is at 36 percent.
