Angola strives for a better life
Angola Vice President Fernando Dias dos Santos delivers a speech.

Angola people celebrated their National Pavilion Day on September 26 at Expo Center.

Angola Vice President Fernando Dias dos Santos said that the Angola's Expo Pavilion not only exhibits its history and national features but also serves as a platform for countries sharing successful experiences in their development.

Angola strived to reconstruct itself after the war and mapped out detailed plans in fields such as infrastructure, agriculture and fishing, education, science and technology as well as public health after peace was restored in this African country in 2002, Fernando Dias dos Santos said.

The Africa country has since actively engaged in economic and trade cooperation with other countries, Fernando Dias dos Santos added.

The African country's reconstruction after war has received aids from Chinese financial institutions and companies, Fernando Dias dos Santos added. He also invited Chinese businessmen to invest in Angola.

Wang Changshun, Vice Minister of General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, said that Angola has beautiful scenery, abundant resources and great development potentials. It has already made remarkable achievements in its reconstruction.

China and Angola's friendship ties have been time-enduring and the African country has become China's greatest trade partner in Africa, Wang added.

Wang believed that the two countries will further improve cooperation through joint efforts.

Artists from Angola performed Saxophone and traditional singing and dancing.

Its pavilion is in Zone C. Angola, which is rich in oil and mineral wealth, highlights how its resources are used to improve livelihoods nationwide and build better cities. Oil drilling technology is showcased along with traditional sculpture, tribal art and a rotating totem made of leaves. The theme is "Angola Ensures a Better Life." The pavilion is covered on the outside with striking African wood carvings.
