Don't miss the last opportunity to win gifts at pavilions and cash in on bargains at souvenir stalls in the final week of the World Expo, which ends October 31.

Though the Expo site has been crowded since last Friday, when the site started receiving up to half a million visitors every day, and even exceeded 1 million visitors last Saturday, there are lots of chances for visitors to win amazing gifts and, of course, to buy souvenirs, which are being sold at a discount of up to 50 percent at many pavilions.

Expo souvenir stores have also started to give away free gifts to customers to boost sales.

To mark the last days of the Expo, some pavilions have started to offer large and often expensive prizes to visitors, such as air tickets.

The United Kingdom Pavilion stepped up the already impressive standard of its prizes this week by giving away a car as well as a pair of return plane tickets to the UK.

The first prize this week, a MG6 sedan, went to a young woman who was chosen from people taking part in an online quiz arranged by the pavilion.

A young couple won the second grand prize that was being given away by the pavilion - two Virgin Atlantic return tickets to the UK after one of them became the 7 millionth visitor to enter the pavilion.

Zheng Rong, from Shenzhen, won two flights and six nights' accommodation in Oman as the 3 millionth visitor to the Oman Pavilion. The package includes guided tours of the Middle Eastern country.

Zheng said it was her first trip to Shanghai and that the Oman Pavilion was the very first she had visited in the Expo that day.

Some visitors have made special trips to the Expo purely for the discounted souvenirs.

At the flagship souvenir store, near the China Pavilion, many products are now being displayed with hand-written tags instead of printed labels, and are °?considerably cheaper than before. A key ring, which would have cost 28 yuan (US$4.20) previously, is now available at just 50 yuan for three.

Some foreign pavilions, such as the Thailand Pavilion, the Laos Pavilion and the Myanmar Pavilion, are offering 20 to 30 percent discounts for their souvenirs and special national products. Wine at the Chile Pavilion is being sold with 50 percent off the South American tipple.

A bamboo musical instrument sold at the Vietnam Pavilion was 20 yuan cheaper than the original 80 yuan and there are many more bargains to be had throughout the entire Expo site, so make sure you pay a visit.
