Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has met with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to reaffirm their strategic partnership.

The two countries inked 30 pacts to deepen cooperation in nuclear energy, pharmaceutical and information technology.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev arrived in New Delhi for a two-day visit. His trip is aimed to talk with India on various issues like nuclear power, defense deals and to strengthen trade and diplomatic ties.

Medvedev held talks with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, hoping to boost trade and investment in both countries.

India and Russia signed an agreement to share intelligence and work together to fight international terror, which was the major focus of discussion between the two leaders.

Dmitry Medvedev, Russian President, said, "Both our countries suffer in the most serious way from acts of terrorism. We are interested in strengthening cooperation both in the diplomatic and judicial spheres, and also with the special forces and security services components for this cooperation. Russia will do everything necessary to achieve this."

Manmohan Singh, Indian Prime Minister, said, "There is a natural synergy of interest in working together to deal with this menace and the most important means is that we should cooperate in information sharing, in intelligence sharing and in devising affective counter terror strategies."

India and Russia also signed an agreement on joint production of multi-billion dollar combat aircraft and Russian aided nuclear reactors.

Meanwhile, Russian President Dmitry Medvedv also met with India's Foreign Minister, and discussed the impact of Pakistan and Afghanistan on the security of Russia and India. Both countries agreed to intensify cooperation in Afghanistan.

Russia also supported India's entry into the Nuclear Suppliers Group, the Missile Technology Control Regime and non-proliferation bodies.
