In Guizhou province, at China's National Traditional Games, a popular sport that only women are allowed to play. It is called swing, and our Zhang Ni introduces us to the swing queens, representing China's ethnic minorities.

This is not acrobatics, but it's an official sport at the National Traditional Games. The one who swings to touch the bells with the highest number of times within 10 minutes wins. The two girl group of TUJIA ethnic minority from southern china finished the match with a big smile.

Yang Keqin, Tujia Ethnic Minority Athlete said, "This is my fourth national games since 1998. I actually won in 2003. I think I still have it today."

The younger generation, including these two girls of the Korean ethnic minority from the northeast of the country also have a big affection for the sport.

Yang Yudan, Korean Ethnic Minority Athlete said, "Since my grandmother, we are all familiar with the swing, and I finally had the chance to start to play it as a sport one year ago."

Regulations for swing as a sport came from the traditional swing of the Korean ethnic minority. Though many ethnic minorities in the country have a history of playing swing, each differs in form and rules.

From east to west and north to south, swing is one of the most widespread traditional sports in china. Its popularity demonstrates the charm of this special sport.

Li Yuanchao, Head of Xinjiang Delegation said, "Swing is very pretty to watch and easy to play. Everyone can play swing, everyone loves swing. But it is not that easy to play it well as a sport. It requires force, speed, resistance and cooperation. That makes it even more watchable and gives good reason to keep practicing."

Since swing was first introduced to the 2nd National Traditional Games in 1982, the sport has been accepted by ethnic minorities across the country and has indeed become a popular sport of the country.
