At least two federal agents were killed and another was injured in a shooting Thursday at a federal building in Long Beach, south of Los Angeles, local press said.
The incident was reported to police at about 6 p.m. (GMT 0200 Friday), the report said.
The shooter was among the dead, who were agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but they were not identified, authorities said.
The condition of the surviving agent was still unknown, and local TV reports said he appeared to be wounded in the upper body.
Witnesses were quoted as saying that at least six Long Beach police vehicles, a fire truck and two ambulances rushed to the scene after the shooting.
