5.0-magnitude quake hits Taipei

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit Taipei at 0:59 a.m. Monday, according to the China National Seismological Network.

The epicenter is located at 25.0 degrees north latitude and 121.7 degrees east longitude, it said.

Taiwan media reported that local high-rises were shaking, but no casualties were reported so far.
