A young male yak is enjoying a happy life together with his parents in Jinniuling Safari Park in Haikou, capital of Hainan Province.

One-month-old yak enjoys a happy life together with his mother in Jinniu Safari Park in Haikou, capital of Hainan Province on September 30, 2008.

Born on August 25, the yak is the first born in the southern metropolis and the first youngster to thrive in a warm tropical climate.

His arrival came after the park imported a pair of yaks from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region in 2005.

The family of yaks, which currently enjoy state-level protection, have all adapted well to the hot climate.
