Nepali Minister for Science and Technology Ganesh Shah on Thursday said that Nepal would be the most vulnerable country in the world to face the effects of climate change, The Rising Nepal reported on Friday.

"The effect of climate change will be serious for Nepal. Its great opportunities of promoting tourism would not remain forever as the mountains had started melting down," Minister Shah said.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the One-Planet Leaders Applied Sustainability Masterclass for Young Nepali CEOs in the capital Kathmandu, the minister stressed on the green and eco-friendly industries in the days ahead.

"The climate change has threatened entire water resources, agriculture, health and human lives; now we must be engaged in energy revolution for sustainable development," he added.

WWF had organized a seminar in association with Entrepreneurs Organization Nepal Chapter (EO Nepal) and Confederation of Nepalese Industries Young Entrepreneurs Forum.

At the function, Anil Manandhar, WWF-Nepal representative, said that WWF approaches could help business leaders understand and exploit the opportunities of how tangible action could bring significant economic benefits, drive innovation and open up new markets and enhance organizational reputation.
