In economics, a bailout is an act of loaning or giving capital to an entity (a company, a country, or an individual) that is in danger of failing.

It is applied to save the entity from bankruptcy, insolvency, and ruin; or to allow a failing entity to fail gracefully without spreading contagion.

Bailouts can take the form of loans, bonds, stocks or cash. They may or may not require reimbursement

從經濟學意義上講，緊急救助是指為瀕臨倒閉的某一實體（如公司、國家或個人）提供資金援助的行為。

它是用來防止實體倒閉、破產或滅亡，至少讓一個落魄的實體優雅地倒下，使破產不至于蔓延。

緊急救助有多種方式，包括貸款、債券或現金，償還與不償還的情況都存在。
