Great Britain and Germany will meet in an all-European collision, while Australia and New Zealand will throw down in an Oceanic duel during Day 2 of Wheelchair Rugby on Saturday, September 13.

Canada vs China (Group A)

Canada survived a slow start to beat Japan 48-40 in their opener.

The Canadian star trio of Fabien Lavoie, Mike Whitehead and Ian Chan combined for 40 goals and nine assists.

China lost badly their first ever Paralympic match as they were beaten by the United States 65-30.

China's Han Guifei showed some good skills as he scored 13 goals, while teammate Chen Jun had a game-high 17 assists.

Canada and China met earlier this year during the Canada Cup with a 63-28 victory for the North Americans.

United States vs Japan (Group A)

Team USA began their quest for the gold medal with an easy 65-30 win over China.

Japan lost their opener to Canada 48-40 after having a good start in the first quarter.

Shimakawa Shinichi gave Japanese side some hope with his 17 goals and Fujishima Shingo added 10 goals in 15 minutes.

Japan and the United States also played at the 2008 Canada Cup with the US team winning 47-38.

Australia vs New Zealand (Group B)

Australia holds a 1-0 record in Beijing 2008 after beating Germany 47-36 in their opener.

Riley Batt notched a day-high 24 goals and added five steals to carry his team to victory. No other Australian scored in double figures.

New Zealand failed to win their opener as they lost to Great Britain 38-39 in the last seconds.

New Zealand's Daniel Buckingham scored the last of his 16 goals with 26 seconds left on the clock and added 10 assists. Tim Johnson had 10 goals.

New Zealand defeated Australia 44-38 at the 2008 Canada Cup in June.

Great Britain vs Germany (Group B)

Medal contender Great Britain snatched a last-second 39-38 win over New Zealand in their opener.

Great Britain's Troye Collins scored the last of his 17 goals 3.8 seconds before the final buzzer. Alan Ash joined Friday's hero with 13 goals.

Germany, seventh in Athens 2004, was defeated by Australia 36-47 in their Beijing opener.

Germany's Salih Koeseoglu had a team-high nine goals, while Nacer Menezla and Wolfgang Mayer added eight and seven goals, respectively.

Great Britain outscored Germany 38-30 when they last met at the 2008 Canada Cup. The British also beat the Germans in the European Championships final in 2007.
