Battle of Tai'erzhuang

The month-long battle from March to April, 1938 was the first major Chinese victory in the war, breaking the myth of Japanese military invincibility and boosting Chinese army's morale. The Chinese killed and injured 11,984 Japanese soldiers and captured 719 and large quantities of military supplies. The battle involved a Japanese plan to conquer Xuzhou, a major city in the East China's Jiangsu province.
