| The Chinese government has called for stringent regulation on the production and marketing of melamine to prevent its use in the food and animal feed industries, Xinhua reports. It has called for a registration system to trace all melamine in the market from wholesalers to the retailers. In addition, dairy enterprises should conduct melamine examinations on all products before distributing them in the market. Other food enterprises should conduct melamine examinations on all dairy products they buy and keep records of all such products. The central authorities also instructed administrative agencies to strengthen supervision of overall dairy product safety and called for a harsh crackdown on illegal dairy production and the use of melamine in milk products. |
據新華社報道，中央政府要求對三聚氰胺的生產銷售加強管理，以防三聚氰胺應用在食品及飼料行業。中央要求建立銷售實名登記制度，這樣從批發到零售環節都可以追查到市場上流通的三聚氰胺。另外，奶制品企業將產品投放市場之前，要做全面的三聚氰胺檢驗，其它食品企業要對所有購入的奶制品進行三聚氰胺檢驗，并保留對此類產品的記錄。中央政府還要求各行政機關加強對奶制品的全面監督，并嚴厲打擊非法奶制品生產及在奶制品中添加三聚氰胺的做法。 |

| The State Council Information Office on Sunday released a white paper on human rights in China for 2009, which promotes the country's efforts in safeguarding citizens' legitimate civil and political rights. The standard of living "has been further improved on the basis of economic and social development" after the country put forward a 4-trillion-yuan (US$596.6 billion) stimulus package in the wake of the international financial crisis, it states. In 2009, the per capita net income of rural residents was 5,153 yuan, and the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 17,175 yuan, an increase of 8.5 percent and 9.8 percent respectively over the previous year. |

| Parents will be prohibited from leaving children under 7 years' old home alone in Henan Province, according to a draft provincial regulation on protection of minors, the Zhengzhou Evening News reports. The draft also forbids leaving children alone in a vehicle or placing children under twelve in the front passenger seat of a car. |

After three years, Zhao broke up with Yang and promised to pay him 8,000 yuan in compensation. However, Yang continued to blackmail her, and Zhao paid him 98,000 yuan. | Nearly half of women see sex is a mere formality, and many worry about unwanted pregnancy due to faulty contraceptives, according to a survey conducted by Health Times. Nearly 30 percent of 2245 female white collar workers surveyed in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou said pressure of work left them no time to communicate properly with their spouses. And 30 percent said they are too familiar with their partners and have lost all sexual interest in them. |
