The 10 undercover Russian spies exposed by the FBI in June have been awarded top Kremlin honors, the Daily Telegraph reports. Russian President Medvedev honored their controversial work as sleeper agents in the United States by giving them all medals. The 10 spies have kept a low profile since their return to Russia with the exception of Anna Chapman, who has taken a job advising a bank and made a series of bizarre publicity-seeking appearances.

The German newspaper The Local reports that a 26-year-old man attempted to crash a sightseeing plane above Munich by attacking the pilot but jumped to his death instead after he found he was no match for the Bundeswehr-trained aviator. Police later found a suicide note in the man's apartment. Over the last several years the man had been caught with drugs and committed a few petty offenses, the police confirmed.

In related news, the Financial Times said yesterday that Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, was set to launch a website for its Sam's Club stores in China, which signals its growing interest in online sales in China.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the Polish town of Swiebodzin will soon be home to a 33-meter statue of Christ, which along with a crown that adds another two meters and its 16-meter platform, will make it the tallest of all statues dedicated to Jesus Christ.
